Am I drunk or is that a Duster pickup?

Yes on both counts, yours for less than 15,000 dollars.

I like this. Can we get this in the US (W ithout Tariffs)?

You could buy a shed in Tijuana, move to California, and just cross the border every year to renew the plates. The feds won’t notice. We won’t tell them! I
promise!

I used to see the old style new bugs cruising around in Tucson all the time. That’s a good idea.

It would be a Dusty Venture either way...

Is it? you could take it a step further and just have a PO box at your local
Mexipost
. You could also have a Mexican driver’s license issued on your name in any of those states, in case a police officer pulls you over in the US.
Actually... you could get away with a lot of shit near the border, police are complicit as far as I’ve been lead to know about Mexican plated cars (semis are another story tho) Plus, given our import laws... you could buy a euro spec RS4, plate it in Sonora, Chihuahua, or Coahuila and never pay road tax, or smog check the thing.

That seems like a great price.
Also how’d you know?

Good question.

Don’t know if I’d feel safe copiloting a Dacia though.

I saw one today with a metal bed liner and various construction equipment, this is more of a work truck than stuff like the Amarok or Hilux because it’s a cheap truck for once.

We get creative around these parts, I get to see a crazy amount of Ram 700 and VW Saveiros doing heavy duty shit a 60,000 dollar American truck wouldn’t be subjected to.
Llorones I say.

Why doesn’t the US get any of the fun small trucks?
![]() 06/22/2018 at 01:20 |

Well we don't get it in France, so no.

if only they were sold here.

I suspect it’s barrier of entry.
Like, Mexico just announced headlamp regulations... for 2020 models. We barely have any regulations except for emissions and only in some states.
In the US federalization is complex

Even when you’re legally driving it as a visitor, you have to export it after a year.

You’re assuming that the police near the border, who see hundreds of Mexican cars every day, care about it.
I know lots of people that live in Mexico and have a business in the US (or the other way about) and they cross the border with Mexican plated cars all the time.

I will have to do
that someday.

The 25% “Chicken Tax” tariff doesn’t help.
